Chaitali (Tali) Kapadia



Tali is a 5th year doctoral candidate in the Organizational Behavior department. Her research focuses on how the micro-dynamics of employees’ daily organizational lives influence motivation and creativity. Her dissertation explores the potential positive outcome of multitasking behavior on subsequent creative performance through energetic activation. She also has ongoing research projects on perceptions of illness, boredom, and hope, risk-taking, and creativity. 


Before coming to Chapel Hill for her PhD, Tali lived in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Detroit. She earned a B.A. in Economics from Barnard College/Columbia University and an M.A. in Social-Organizational Psychology from Teachers College/Columbia University. She has 10 years of applied work experience in the corporate and non-profit sectors.
